A MAN IN his 80s has died after he was struck by a truck as he crossed a road in Slane in Meath.
The pedestrian was hit at 3.30pm on Thursday afternoon as he crossed the Drogheda Road (N51) in the Meath village.
The man was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he was pronounced dead.
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
