DESPITE LAST NIGHT’S marathon debate on the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill 2013, the Dáil has yet to get through the majority of the 165 amendments tabled on the legislation.

TDs recommenced discussing amendments at 5pm today with a view to adjourning at midnight. It seems unlikely that it will be concluded – and a final Dáil vote taken on the whole Bill – before that time.

Indeed, the debate may well continue through tomorrow and possibly Monday.

Stay with TheJournal.ie as we bring you the latest from the Dáil this evening.
