1. #CHILDREN The latest reports from the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland have been released. They praise Killaloe Diocese for “great effort” in minimising risks to children, and say the responsibility to safeguard children was taken with the “utmost seriousness” in the Diocese of Meath.

2. #POSTCODE The Data Protection Commissioner is warning that the upcoming new Irish postcode system could make sensitive information about individuals more accessible. He is concerned that individual postcodes could be used “for any purpose”, including commercial exploitation.

3. #BOKO HARAM A new video released by Boko Haram today claims to show around 130 of the missing girls who the militant group kidnapped from Chibok in Nigeria. The girls were all in Muslim dress and Boko Haram said they will not be released until all militant prisoners are freed.

4. #GERRY ADAMS Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams says that an arrest “should not be taken as any indication of guilt”, and claims that people are more concerned with water charges than his recent arrest.

5. #BANKING AIB is back in profit – for the first time since being bailed out by the Government in 2009. Its chief executive said that progress “is evident across a number of fronts”. Here’s what it all means.
