biscuit wars

The Burning Question*: Is the chocolate on the top or bottom of these biscuits?

Let TheJournal.ie distract you from the ‘serious’ news with one of life’s REAL dilemmas. (*not really)

WE KNOW HOW you feel.

It’s Monday, you have the whole week looming ahead, and you have a lot on your plate.

So do like we do here in TheJournal.ie HQ and get stuck into a serious debate on one of life’s most pressing issues.

Possibly.

This week: We don’t want to mention the war…but some really important questions about the chocolate biscuit have emerged recently. According to a recent investigation by subreddit users and the Independent in London, the chocolate layer on Digestives, Hob Nobs, etc, is actually the BOTTOM layer.

“For your information,” a spokesperson from United Biscuits, the makers of McVitie’s delights wrote.

The biscuits go through a reservoir of chocolate which enrobes them so the chocolate is actually on the bottom of the biscuits and not on the top.

A further clarification sought noted:

The McVitie’s stamp is on the other side, which is the top of the biscuit.

What do you think though? Is this something specific to McVitie’s? Are they wrong about their own product? Has your life turned upside down?
