BRONZE TURKEYS SHOWED off their plumage and impressive colouring at Gerry McEvoy’s farm in Sallins, Co Kildare today.
McEvoy sells bronze turkeys directly from his farm to individuals, and more information can be found online.

I would seriously advise those turkeys to start practicing “mooo” or “oink” sounds when yer man walks by again!
I love Turkey at Crimbo – actually I like it a lot the rest of the year too. Funny how most Irish punters will tell you on Stephen’s day that they’re sick of Turkey. Then they spend the other 364 days of the year eating Chicken!
I usually have pigeon for crimbo….their legs are tasty deep fried. The beak shavings add a nice crunchy top to the roast taters so no wastage or Stephens day pigeon curry or pigeon sambwidges. …. no turkey for me…. as dry as a bag of dry sand left out in the sun to get even dryer on the dryest day of the year.
