Man to face trial for having sex with a minor in the Dublin Mountains

The alleged offences occurred in the summer of 2008.

A MAN IN his 40s appeared before the Dublin District Court this morning on seven counts of having sex with a minor.

The accused was sent forward for trial and remanded in custody with consent to bail. He is due to appear before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on November 7.

The man faces six counts of engaging in sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 17 in a recreation area in Dublin between June and July 2008.

He also faces one count of engaging in sexual intercourse with a child under the age in 17 in the Dublin Mountains in July 2008.

These acts are offences under Section 3 of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act 2006.
