Cyclist dies in Galway traffic collision

A 61-year-old male cyclist died as a result of injuries sustained when he was in collision with a car in Co Galway this evening.

GARDAÍ IN BALLINASLOE Co Galway are investigating a a fatal road traffic which occurred this evening, in which a male cyclist was killed.

The incident occurred on the main Roscommon to Galway Road (N63) at Ballygar at approximately 5.45pm.

A 61-year-old male cyclist died as a result of injuries sustained when he was in collision with a car, gardaí confirmed. No other person was injured in this incident.

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
