Device made safe in Crumlin by army bomb disposal team

The improvised explosive device was made safe in Crumlin before 1am this morning.

AN ARMY BOMB disposal team has made safe a viable explosive device in Crumlin.

The Defence Forces deployed a team to the Lismore Road in Crumlin following a request from Gardaí.

They made safe the viable Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and removed it to a military installation for further examination. No controlled explosion had to be carried out.

The team arrived on the scene at 11.45pm and it was declared safe at 12.50am.

  • Is there ever any follow up after the IEDs are disposed of ? Seems like drug dealers inadvertently marking out the locations of other drug dealers to the cops if you ask me. They’re usually left under cars so if you’re regularly checking under your car for bombs chances are you’re not exactly kosher.

  • Another day an other bomb. Seems like the norm here in Crumlin now. I feel for the poor neighbours been evacuated from their homes, with their children time and time again.
