Funerals to take place today of tragic wall collapse dead

Seán Mulleady, 47, and Paddy Gaffney, 65, lost their lives in tragic circumstances on Tuesday when a wall collapsed at the Connacht Gold DIY and Garden Centre in Co Longford.

THE TWO MEN who died tragically earlier this week when a wall at a Longford DIY store collapsed will be laid to rest today.

Seán Mulleady,47, from Creenagh in Co Longford and Paddy Gaffney, 65, from Cloonshannagh, Rooskey in Co Roscommon lost their lives on Tuesday when a wall collapsed at the Connacht Gold DIY and Garden Centre in Co Longford.

Four others were injured in the incident which is being investigated by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA).

The funeral mass of Mr Mulleady is to take place after midday mass in St Mary’s Church, Drumlish, Co Longford, followed by his burial in New Cemetery.

Mr Gaffney’s funeral mass will be at midday in the Sacred Heart Church in Tarmonbarry, Co Roscommon. Burial afterwards will be in Kilbarry Cemetery.
