'We are so relieved to finally have Michael home today.' - Body found in search for missing Clare man

A man’s body was discovered in the sea near Oranmore, outside Galway city earlier today.

THE BODY OF a man has been recovered from the sea in Co Galway.

The discovery was made near Ardfry Point, at Oranmore near Galway city earlier today.

It’s understood that the man’s body was spotted offshore by a search party who had been looking for missing Clare man Michael Bugler.

Michael’s sister Laura wrote on Facebook this evening that she and her family were relieved to have Michael home.

“On behalf of myself, my family and Michael’s friends I’d like to thank you all for your help and support over the past 3 weeks,” she said.

“Thankfully we are so relieved to finally have Michael home today.”

A Garda spokesman confirmed that the body has been removed to Galway University Hospital where a post mortem is expected to take place.
