Prisoner (25) escapes from custody at courthouse

The woman was transported today from Limerick Prison to Ennis Courthouse where she was due to stand trial.

A PRISONER ESCAPED from custody today at Ennis Courthouse before she was due to stand trial.

The Irish Prison Service has confirmed that the woman was brought from Limerick Prison to Ennis, where she was due to stand trial.

The woman is understood to be is 25-year-old Amanda Hayes. She escaped from the custody of the Irish Prison Service.

Gardaí were notified and a spokesperson for the prison service confirmed that they were investigating the incident.
