THE LATEST ADDITION to the Star Wars world, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been released today and anticipation worldwide has been… palpable.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first film in the Star Wars franchise to have its own standalone storyline with the events in this film happening just before all the action in the original Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

Not that you need a recap of what happened in the original Star Wars film, but *spoiler alert* the Death Star was blown up. Rogue One focuses on a group of rebels risking everything to get the plans to the Death Star.

Reception to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been overwhelmingly positive with critics and fans alike raving about the film.

There is a whole cast of new characters to fall in love with including Jun Erso (Felicity Jones), Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and some old favourites such as Darth Vader plus a Stormtrooper or two.

Star Wars Star Wars

Director Gareth Edwards has reportedly made a grittier version of Star Wars than people are used to seeing – it’s more of a war drama than a space opera, with lots of historical inspiration for the look of the film.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is in cinemas nationwide from today. Head over to the Star Wars website to find out more. May the force be with you.
