VODAFONE IRELAND HAS said that it has identified problems with its voice and data services today, and that the issue has now been resolved.

Some customers had been experiencing intermittent voice and data services since this morning.

A Vodafone spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that the interruptions were due to a transmission fault.

The service provider has confirmed that full service has been restored, and has issued an apology to any affected customers.

  • Seems to be back to normal now, a txt from Vodafone to their customers would have been nice explaining the situation instead of people calling them wondering what’s wrong with their hand sets.

  • The standard of coverage has decreased annually.. I have had nothing but trouble with Vodafone mobile and broadband….. Not just jumping on the bandwagon but we are in fairness a joke in this country…… At the moment

  • Coverage is a complete joke in the southwest. Not just today but for the past 6 months. Calls dropped every day in the same place.. The problem is the alternatives of O2 and 3 are worse… Easy for them to have free voda to Voda calls when u can’t get coverage and when u do it takes 3 to 4 calls to have a 2 min conversation. Don’t start me on da data side of things! Once there is coverage in D4 everything is fffffiiiiiinnnnneeee.

  • This is about the 3rd time that this has happened in the past 6 months.

  • anyone else pay as you go notice how much it cost them today. *174# says I have 2c yet vodafone app says 18.04e. I used 284mb on 3g today a three min phone call and two msg sent. my package is the free broadband if 30euro top up…. so today’s data problem may have cost me the best part of 18euro… so stating so others may be aware to check their balance. I’ll be phoning them on 1747 in the morning when their lines are open will post an update.

    • update 1741 will only work if you have credit yet no problem getting tru on 012038232. their FREE internet is capped. I was told it’s 50meg a day or 500 Meg a month. I was listing to a podcast and went over the limit, they then procedeed to charge me at a rate of a euro a Meg. Their android app still says I have 18euro in credit and DO NOT have any notice on terms and conditions apply or internet is capped nor the price plan for internet usage if you go over the limit. I’m looking at switching to three pay as you go, 20euro all you can eat data. 55euro spent on 20odd days is a bit much.

  • We have had a problem with data and received a massive bill nearly 2000 euro. It was clocking up over 4 weeks and we were not notified that we had gone over our data usage nor that our bill was abnormally high. If we had just received a text alerting us something could have been done. Why are they allowed to get away with this? Would love to join a group of people to bring them to court so the law can be changed and this never happens again.

  • Will they be providing refunds for loss of service and its consequences?

  • no coverage from vodafone in the bantry area since last week, phone calls to vodafone took ages and then they inform me the more folk that phone the better the chance of getting it fixed, great if you have a landline but if you have no coverage how are you supposed to phone them!!!!

I find coverage worse in england. It’s not isolated to ireland

  • Come on! Give them a break! They’re too busy creating dummy companies in Luxembourg, for tax dodging purposes, to worry about coverage in outlying parts of Ireland.
