#1. BANKS: PTSB bank chiefs told the Oireachtas Finance Committee that they’ve offered 3,500 split mortgages, taken legal cases against 1,600 and assisted 800 people sell their homes.

#2. REFERENDUM: The Referendum Commission launched its information campaign on both referendums taking place on October 4. The public are being asked whether we should abolish the Seanad and whether we should set up a new Court of Appeal.

#3. ALTERCATION: Police in Co. Antrim are searching for a man following an incident in which a man, who was out walking his dog, was knocked unconscious and assaulted by another dog walker.

#4. CANNABIS: A man has been arrested after Gardai seized €280k worth of cannabis in a house in Roscommon today.

#5. CRASH: Eight people have been seriously injured in a 100 vehicle pile-up on a motorway in the UK.
