GOOD EVENING

The 5 at 5 Five minutes, five stories, five o’clock…

EVERY WEEKDAY EVENING, TheJournal.ie brings you the five stories you need to know before you head out the doors.

1. #WEATHER WARNING: Met Éireann has issued three weather warnings. Storm Eva is set to sweep in across the country from tomorrow afternoon. Western counties will be worst hit.

2. #ROAD DEATHS: Two people – a mother and her adult daughter – have been killed in a road crash in Co Cork. Their car hit another vehicle and overturned into a stream.

3. #PERRY GOES LARGE: Fine Gael TD John Perry has thanked his family, constituents and God after being allowed onto the party ticket for the general election. It followed a court battle.

4. #MID-MORNING MATTERS: Newstalk has said it is taking legal action against The Irish Sun after a report that the station is to scrap Pat Kenny’s mid-morning show next year. The report is a “work of fiction,” the station insists.

5. #AT IT AGAIN: Donald Trump has said that Hillary Clinton got “schlonged” by Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary. (Yes, it means the same thing over there as it does here).
