Man sustains serious facial injuries in 6am acid attack

The man, understood to be Polish, was attacked with acid while smoking outside his house in Dublin 15.

A MAN has been seriously injured after being attacked with acid outside his home in Dublin this morning.

The man, understood to be originally from Poland, was smoking outside his house in the Redwood estate in Hollystown, near Tyrrellstown when he was approached by a man who splashed acid in his face.

The man sustained serious facial injuries and was rushed to Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown where he is being treated for his injuries.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses, or anyone who may have been in the Redwood estate in the time leading to 6am, to come forward.
