Murder investigation launched after stabbing in Cavan

A foreign national in his forties was stabbed to death in an apartment.

ONE MAN HAS died after being stabbed at an apartment in Cavan town last night.

The attack happened at Connolly Court on James Connolly Street at around 11pm. Gardaí have preserved the scene for a technical examination and the man’s body remains in the apartment.

RTÉ reports that two men entered the apartment and attacked the man, who’s in his forties and is an foreign national who had only been in the country for a few days.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious around the Connolly Court apartments last night between 10pm and midnight to contact them at Cavan Garda Station on 049 4398800 or on the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
