TWO MEN have been arrested after Gardaí and customs officers seized a quantity of methylethcathinone in a search this afternoon.
The drugs, with an estimated street value of €8,750 pending analysis, were recovered after Gardaí searched a car in the Forthill area.
The two men are being detained at Sligo Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The seizure marks the second time in just over a week that a quantity of the mephedrone-like drug has been seized; €140,000 of the crystallised drug was seized in Donegal last week after being sent in a package originating in China.
