Man charged over fatal shooting in Finglas

A 41-year-old man was shot dead on the Ballycoolin Road last Sunday evening.

A 22-YEAR-OLD man has been charged this evening in connection with the fatal shooting of a man on the Ballycoolin Road in Finglas, north Dublin, last Sunday evening.

The victim was shot at around 5pm on Sunday by a lone gunman. He was rushed to nearby Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, where he was pronounced dead.

A second man — also aged in his 20s — and a woman in her 30s were also questioned in connection with the attack. Both have been released without charge.

The man charged tonight is due to appear at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Parkgate Street at 10.30am tomorrow morning.
