Man in his 20s charged with sexual assault of woman in her 70s

The man will appear before Killorglin District Court.

THE MAN ARRESTED yesterday in connection with the serious sexual assault of a woman in her 70s will appear in court this evening.

The man was arrested yesterday morning in relation to a serious sexual assault of an elderly woman that occurred in Sneem, County Kerry on the 20 September this year.

The man, who is in his early 20s, was currently detained at Killarney Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He will face a special sitting of Killorglin District Court tonight.
