The Curse or ‘Klątwa’ is a Polish play which examines the relationship between their State and Catholic Church -and it’s been under investigation since it premiered, the Guardian reports.

The producers of the play, which is extremely popular and has been sold out since February, are being investigated by state prosecutors over allegations they are inciting the audience to murder.

But Croatian director Oliver Frljić said the state-led backlash has simply proved The Curse’s point: “It is not just what’s going on on stage, it’s what happens in a broader social context.

It would be great if the protesters could understand that they too are part of this performance.
