Criminal gang crackdown continues in Waterford with four more arrests

A total of 12 people have now been arrested as part of the operation, with seven released without charge.

FOUR MORE PEOPLE have been arrested as part of a crackdown on criminal gangs in Waterford.

It brings the total number of people arrested as part of this operation to 12.

Three men and a woman were taken into garda custody this morning and afternoon, and are currently being held at Waterford and Tramore Garda Stations.

One other is still being held by gardaí, while seven have been released without charge with a file prepared for the DPP.

As many as 100 officers from a number of units took part in raids at the start of this month as part of the operation into organised criminal activity.

The Criminal Assets Bureau were involved and it is believed that documentation and other evidential material were recovered as part of the planned searches.
