Police Scotland said the incident was “tragic”.

A TWO-YEAR-OLD and a three-year-old have died after the car they were travelling in crashed into a lake near Oban in Scotland.

The bodies of the children were recovered from Loch nan Druimnean after the crash yesterday. They have been named as sister and brother Leia and Seth McCorrisken.

A 36-year-old woman was taken to hospital but released after some treatment, Police Scotland said.

A Coast Guard helicopter and emergency divers were called to the scene.

Herald Scotland quotes a Police Scotland spokesperson as saying the incident was “tragic”.

”Emergency services attended and a 36-year-old woman was taken to Oban Hospital as a precaution and released after treatment.

”The bodies of two children, aged two and three were recovered from the water. Relatives are aware.

‘Two young children have lost their lives and our thoughts and condolences go out to the family of those involved in this tragic incident.”

The car has since been taken from the lake.
