  • After sixty of these have been disarmed in the Republic in the first six months of the present year, activities have moved across the Border. Truly this is an All Ireland approach to terror and attempted murder. We should be grateful that the perpetrators are broad minded enough to bring their murderous expertise to all reaches of the Island. When are those with a conscience who know these thugs going to hand them over to the PSNI and the Gardai or will we just wait until more children lose their hands…or feet….or lives?

  • Oh dear Brian your question really invites another one in response. Are you genuinely misguided or do you really expect me to engage with you at that level?

  • It’s a simple question Mick and I’m not too sure what you mean by engaging you “at that level”. I am genuinely curious as to how you figure that the bombs in the Republic are linked to the bombs in NI. Do you believe that a single individual or group is responsible or are there perhaps several entities at work perhaps contracting out their expertise?

As for wondering whether I am misguided I would like to point out that I am not the one who posted ” We should be grateful that the perpetrators are broad minded enough to bring their murderous expertise to all reaches of the Island.” To be honest I’m really not too sure where you are going with that sort of a statement.

  • Brian, do you have a single shred of evidence to support that claim? surely the culprits are more likely to be 32 counties terrorists

    • Well Fay here is a link to some info on the Real UFF. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Ulster_Freedom_Fighters

If you look at previous attacks already claimed by the Real UFF and other attacks recently in Dervock you will see that those attacks (apart from Dervock) are all in about a 1 mile radius of each other. The targets have been Catholics and Polish people who I presume were targeted because the majority of them are catholic. Antrim has a population of about 30% catholic and is also a noted Loyalist area. Taking all of this into account it would be reasonable to assume that this attack was sectarian and/or racist in nature and carried out by a Loyalist grouping. Besides why would a dissident Republican group want to drive Catholics out of a Protestant area?

The device was found in a playing field behind Mallusk Gardens so no specific target can be identified as it was probably dumped there either for an impending attack or because the bombers got spooked and tossed it. I would still put my money on it being Loyalist/Racist related.

  • Brian surely even you can understand my sarcasm. You should also be able to understand the All Ireland comment.
