Great island ,grow canabis plants and we seem to be able to organise our criminal justice system pretty well , rob the public with white collar bank crimes ….different story…..

There’s the solution to our problems right there…become the biggest exporter of stout and cannabis….take 100,000 people off dole , let them only pay 12.5% corporate tax rates on the profits ,and save in dole payments too…it’s a winner;)

Its a subjective question as to how much these plants are actually worth, with too many variables to even contemplate, but with a ball park figure estimated at €250,000, they’re Should be a whole lot more people growing plants like these!!!
Its a wonder Hatton Goldsmiths isn’t looking for these plants at this stage, they know where the monies at. :)

if a woman in cavan is growing 250,000 euros worth of cannabis in the upstairs of her house that would imply (by the gardai logic) that the overall growing of cannabis in ireland is worth in the billions to trillions. the gardai estimates are dodgy as hell, most likely the whole plant is weighed while fresh , adding water weight. cannabis is dried , cured and than weighed to be distributed. a fresh cannabis plant is around 80% water, which will need to be dried , overall the weight will be an average of 50% less once dry. so the judging the gardai aren’t cropping the plant and than painstakingly air drying and curing the buds alone, they’re estimates of street value are wildly inaccurate.

I’m pretty if its a seed in some soil or a fully budding bush, the value is €800 per plant. So she had 312.5 plants. Obviously 250,000 is a sexier figure then 240,000 for 300 plants.

I’ll bet there wasn’t much more than a bit of personal… €250,000 my hole.

There may be scant sympathy for him/her, but this is also some poor landlord’s house destroyed. A cousin of mine emigrated to Australia with her husband and left their house in the ‘care’ of an auctioneer to let it out for a year or two rather than selling it, in case things didn’t work out and they came home.

It was used as cannabis grow house. Furniture and fittings were just broken up and thrown out into the garden ceilings were pulled down so that lights could be hung from rafters. Sprinkler systems were set up which destroyed all the floor coverings and caused damp throughout the floors and walls of the house – there was mould everywhere. Anything with any value at all – TV, dishwasher, washing machine, cooker etc – were all gone. The bathroom was used to mix fertilizer which destroyed all the fittings there too.

Some ‘care’ the b****** who was being paid to let it out took of the house – they were there for more than 6 months before it was discovered.

The entire house was just ruined.

Why doesn’t the report state where it was? I.e. What estate, where the house is etc.? It’s the same in the Local Papers & Radio Station covering the issue here too.
