IF YOU REGULARLY look back on the days where you could sit down and play the SNES or Mega Drive with fondness, you’ll enjoy this.
An Post has issued a collection of retro gaming stamps which feature some of the most iconic stars and games from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
The four stamps include Bandai’s Pac-Man, arguably one of the first iconic videogame stars created, Namco’s Space Invaders, one of the arcade games that helped shape the industry in the early days, and SEGA and Nintendo’s mascots, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Mario (both are in their early 90s incarnations).
The stamps were designed by the Dublin-based graphic design studio Zinc Design Consultants.
The stamps will cost 68c each, or €2.72 for all four, but if you don’t want to send them off, you can purchase a first day cover (FDC) for €3.72 or a sheetlet for €10.88.
If you want to refresh your memory, you can relive some of the more popular games from the 90s, or if you have a few minutes to kill, play some PacMan or Space Invaders.
