GOOGLE IS SET to launch a pair of electronic glasses this year that project information directly in front of your eyes, according to reports.
Sources at the company told the New York Times that the gadget would feature a tiny screen sitting just in front of a user’s eye, and working on the firm’s Android operating system.
They will use a 3G connection in the same way as a smartphone, and include motion and location sensors, the sources said, adding that they would be priced at $250 to $600 and go on sale later this year.
According to technology blog 9to5Google, users will navigate the operating system by tilting their heads in a way “almost indistinguishable” to others around.
It’s thought the device could provide an “augmented reality” service with real-time information, search results, social media and maps layered over a user’s vision behind the glasses.
