Player ratings: how the Boys in Green fared...

You’ve seen the action in Tallinn. Here’s how we thought Trap’s side performed.

How they rated:

Shay Given: Consistent and efficient as always from the Donegal man. 7

Stephen Kelly: Was literally caught in the lights early on but recovered to give a steady performance. 6

Stephen Ward: Diligent in defence but no attacking threat. Excellent tackle in a difficult first half period. 6

Sean St Ledger: Some uncomfortable moments countered with some committed clearances. 6

Richard Dunne: A rock as usual though at times he fell into the general Irish malaise with the ball. 7

Glenn Whelan: A good shift in the coalface but ponderous in possession. 6

Damien Duff: Flashes of class and his usual high work-rate. 7

Keith Andrews: Tremendous run and climb for the opening goal. Tidy otherwise. 8

Jonathan Walters: Intelligent in possession and a pesky physical presence. Deserved his goal. 7

Robbie Keane: On the fringes initially, but two goals, an assist and forced the sending off. Remains Ireland’s go to man.  8

Aiden McGeady: Can be infuriating, but a constant threat. 7

Substitution: Stephen Hunt: His usual busy self 6

Keith Fahey: N/A

Simon Cox: N/A
