  • I got battered twice in the space of one night out years ago too.
There’s too many tanked-up yobs wandering about with little else to be doing than throwing digs at all and sundry at the weekends.
God rest this poor young lad.

  • Its disgusting carry on by anyone. And May the young chap rest in peace. But if there is any saving grace, its the fact it happened up north. Where they shall receive a decent sentence if found guilty, not like a derisery one here.

    • That’s the thing. All of us have been in a fight some time or other. All it takes is one person falling and/or hitting his head for someone to die.

I’ve seen people literally getting their heads kicked like footballs outside nightclubs.

It’s scary how fragile life really is and you really have to have your wits about you when you go out drinking on a weekend… anywhere really.

  • I know it sounds cliched and stupid to say this but he doesn’t look like the kind of lad that would be going around spoiling for a fight.

Poor guy was probably just a victim of circumstance.

Unfortunately, Ireland is full of loud mouth “tough guys” who put on this facade of being tough while hiding behind a girl, their mates or sucker punching somebody. And if you have a quiet demeanour, God help you. The “tough guys” love an easy target, like this poor lad probably was.

See how tough Irish people are in Australia when they have too much to drink and try throwing their weight around? They get their heads kicked in.

Bravado and violence is not the answer.

  • A night out that will have changed the lives of Jason’s family forever. May he be at peace. The lives of the family of the person or persons involved in this will also be changed forever. I don’t judge until full facts are established. I do hope the the person or persons involved are brought to justice and facts of the night established for the family and friends of the deceased. It is extremely sad for all involved. Remember whoever has done this has to live with for the rest of their lives. It would have been some consolation for the family if the person/s had to come forward and not have to lifted by police.
