18th ABSOLUT Fringe festival announced

16 day festival will run from September 8 – 23.

A RAUCOUS 16 days of theatre, interactive performances and live music were announced last night, as details of the 18th Dublin Fringe festival were announced.

The city wide festival, which runs from September 8-23, will look to put the audience at centre stage in many of the events, which will feature performances from up to 90 artists.

Highlights include the show Just In Time, in which the public will use a phone app to search Temple Bar for “a criminal who can time travel” and Theatre company Thisispopbaby, which will follow the recent success at the Abbey of Alice in Funderland with a new show, Elevator.

Meanwhile the Dublin Youth Theatre is set to create a party at which the public is advised to bring only “a mobile, good shoes and your wits about you”. Other performers will include “the sexy aerial, acrobatic act” Paper Dolls and Limerick comedy/hip-hop duo The Rubberbandits.

Now in its 18th year, the festival will host performances from up to 90 artists presenting 624 events in theatre, dance music and other visual arts events

And the winners are… ABSOLUT Fringe fest 2011 awards >
