EVERY WEEKDAY EVENING, TheJournal.ie brings you the five stories you need to know before you hit the road.

2. #DISPUTE Greyhound has accepted the Labour Relations Commissions invite, and says the ball is now in the workers’ court. The two sides met last week, but workers have not yet committed to entering formal talks.

3. #SHOPPING Tesco’s position as the top Irish supermarket choice is looking increasingly shaky, as it loses market share to the major German discounters. Dunnes and SuperValu have managed to entice more shoppers through their doors in recent months.

4. #RAIL STRIKES Minister Paschal Donohoe has said he won’t be intervening personally in the long-running dispute at Irish Rail. Unions and management are taking part in a second day of talks today to try and avert the planned strikes.

5. #RIP Members of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra held a minute’s silence for member John Lynch and his partner Kevin Devine, who both lost their lives in a drowning accident in Crete.
