1.#MOTHER AND BABY HOMES: The files recalled by the Department of Health in relation to mother and baby homes have been made public by TheJournal.ie.

2.#WATERFORD: A cyclist in his 30s was killed in a collision late last night. The man was hit by a car at Ballyvoil in Stradbally after 7pm.

3.#ATHLONE: The body of a man, believed to be a Polish national, was taken from the River Shannon in Athlone last night. Gardaí are investigating reports that a man was seen being bundled into a car in the town earlier in the day.

4.#WATERVILLE: A teenage boy remains in a critical condition in hospital after a swimming accident in Blanchardstown last night. Two teenage girls are reportedly in a stable condition.

5.#LETTER: Another Fianna Fáil TD is at the centre of a judicial storm. Just days after Niall Collins was revealed to have written a letter asking a judge not to jail a drug dealer, The Irish Independent says Eamon O’Cuiv, wrote a letter asking for a convicted killer to be moved to an open prison.

6.#PROPERTY TAX: The Property Tax is unfair on those in negative equity, the world’s most famous economist says. Thomas Piketty also says that the discussion of Ireland’s corporation tax is “getting us nowhere”.

7.#IRAQ: A British man has been identified as one of the men in a recruitment video for Iraqi insurgents ISIS.  Nasser Muthana’s father told the Daily Telegraph that his son had become “brainwashed”.

8.#ELECTIONS: Ireland’s contribution to overseeing fair elections in foreign countries has been revealed. We spent €35,000 monitoring Tajikistan, Armenia and Azerbijan.

9.#WEATHER: It will be cooler today, but that doesn’t mean you can forego the sun-cream.
