1. #GONE: Former Irish Olympic chief Pat Hickey has resigned from the International Olympic Committee’s executive board, according to RTÉ.

2. #IRMA: Hurricane Irma has regained Category 4 strength with 210 km/h winds as it moves toward Florida, according to forecasters this morning. The hurricane’s leading edge is already lashing the Florida Keys.

3. #HOOK: The controversy over George Hook’s rape comments gets mentions in a number of Sunday newspapers. The Sunday Business Post reports that the main sponsor of Hook’s High Noon show, Dalata – which owns the Clayton Hotels – is threatening to end its association with the presenter.

4. #GARDA BOSS: Also in the Business Post this morning – the paper’s Michael Brennan reports that Garda Commissioner Nóirín O’Sullivan is in line for a lump sum of €300,000 and annual pension of €100,000 if she can resist calls for her to step down until the end of November.

5. #GARDA REPORT: Why did just seven gardaí make submissions to the breath test probe, which dominated the headlines earlier this week? We’ve been speaking to rank-and-file members.
