1.#SEWAGE: A new report from the EPA says that raw sewage is being pumped into 42 urban areas across Ireland. The Urban Waste Water Report says that some of Ireland’s most scenic spots; Bundoran, Cobh and Connemara, are at risk.

2.#STRIPPERS: NUI Maynooth is investigating an event in which naked strippers performed on campus. The unofficial event saw the strippers perform at a mock stag party.

3.#RIP: The funeral of justice campaigner Christine Buckley will be held today. Buckley founded the Aislinn Centre for abuse survivors and was a tireless campaigner for justice for child abuse victims.

4.#MALAYSIAN AIRLINES: Search teams near the area where missing flight MH370 was last spotted have found nothing, despite Chinese authorities saying that they had spotted debris from the flight.

5.#FIRE: Two men have died in an apartment fire in Mallow, Co Cork. The fire occurred at 12.10am on St Joseph’s Road in the town.

6.#BE CAREFUL: Gardaí are warning homeowners to be more vigilant in helping to tackle burglaries. The gardaí said that over €10.7 million was stolen from houses last year.

7.#LEAVIN’ ON A JET PLANE: The St Patrick’s Day exodus begins today, as the Taoiseach and Tánaiste both head off. 28 ministers in total will take part in promotional trips abroad, with Enda Kenny off to Washington, Boston and New York and Eamon Gilmore heading to Paris, where he will take in Ireland’s Six Nations rugby match with France.

8.#MISTY MORNING: Drivers are being urged to take care this morning as heavy fog sets in across the country. However, the good news is that at the time of writing, it was not raining in a single Irish town.

9.#ONE YEAR IN: Pope Francis today celebrates a year in office. The former Argentine cardinal has presented a humbler, more reformative face of the church in his first 365 days.
