Drivers warned to take care in fog and mist this morning

It’s pretty misty out there today.

PEOPLE TRAVELLING THIS morning have been warned to take extra care as fog and mist settles over large parts of the country.

AA Roadwatch has urged drivers to use fog lights where needed  - but to remember to switch them off afterwards .

The fog is particularly strong around Wicklow, parts of Dublin, and in the midlands around Portlaoise, Mullingar and Tullamore, while Leitrim, Roscommon, Carlow and Kilkenny also have reduced visibility.

Met Éireann has said frost will clear early this morning but fog and mist will take longer to disappear.

It’s not all bad news though: sunny spells are forecast for most areas – yay! – by early afternoon, according to Met Éireann.

Temperatures are going to be as high as 10 to 15 degrees, which frankly, sounds pretty balmy after the last few months of terrible weather.
