Dublin Airport back to normal after diverted flight caused disruption

A flight from London to Boston had to make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport after a technical problem.

FLIGHTS AT DUBLIN Airport have returned to normal after a plane was forced to make an emergency landing late last night, causing disruption to some flights.

The American Airlines flight from London Heathrow to Boston was diverted to Dublin Airport shortly after take-off when a technical issue was discovered on the plane.

The plane landed at Dublin Airport, blocking off part of the runway. As a result a number of other planes due to land were diverted to other airports, including Belfast. A number of planes were forced into holding patterns over the Irish Sea.

Flight operations resumed at around 11pm last night.

All passengers and crew aboard the American Airlines flight were uninjured by the incident.
