LAST WEEK, PEOPLE were out celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Drogheda pub Barney Mac’s when something rather spooky happened.
The pub has shared CCTV footage of a pint exploding out of nowhere to the surprise of everyone in there.

So, what exactly caused the pint to explode? Can we blame it on the paranormal?
Well, the pub has playfully attributed it to “the ghost of Joe Murphy,” but others on the Facebook page have pointed out that this isn’t an unusual occurrence in pubs — it typically happens when a cold pint is placed in a hot glass.
As for the customer? Don’t worry. He got a new pint.

In a pub that looks to have about 10 people in it, there’s no excuse for putting a pint of Guinness in a warm glass :(

Just as well it happened while the glass was on the table rather than in his gob.
If it was a hot glass it was also likely still wet from glass washer. Never ever serve guinness in a wet glass

no it wasn’t… The video was posted on Fb Friday evening March 20 at 8.54pm – 3days after it happened. A cold liquid in a hot glass. It happened to me before. A horizontal cracking appeared on my pint glass of Guinness just before it exploded like that in my hand. I wasn’t cut or anything by it. It had just been served to me by the barman. The glass was still hot. The pub owner just happened to be standing behind me at the time. He saw what happened and had it replaced.
