Fire causes part closure of Camden Street in Dublin

Camden Street this morning where fire services are on the scene.

TRAFFIC IS BEING diverted in the area around Camden Street in Dublin city after a fire broke out in a building there.

Fire services are currently on the scene and all outbound traffic is being diverted via lower Kevin Street.

Dublin Bus advises that a number of diversions are in place.

All buses that normally use George’s Street heading southbound are now being diverted via, Nassau Street, Kildare Street, St. Stephens Green, Harcourt Terrace and back onto normal routing.

All buses heading northbound are following are now being diverted via Nassau Street, Earlsfort Terrace, St. Stephens Green, Dawson Street and back onto normal routing.

Thesis Centre, terrible if this is the case. You also have Daintree next door which sells loads of different types of paper so that can’t be good either. Hope whoever owns the premise recovers after this unfortunate event

Why oh why are the fire brigade allowing people to walk along the foot path in front of a building that is on fire??…..

I hope no one was injured.

  Looks like they may be evacuating the fire brigade officers and the Gardai are present and WOULD never allow the public to walk into danger looks like they are going away from it Please God the Emergency Services Staff stay safe

  Those people were evacuating the other buildings next door. The firefighters are busy getting equipment ready, saving potential casualties and putting water on the fire. In any case, It’s up to the Gardai to cordon off the area once everyone is evacuated

  @ Steve, are you serious???? Is it really 500 euros for every engine that turns up. Anyone know who pays the bill if a stolen car is set on fire, or the big communal wheely bins that are used in council flats?

  To the best of my knowledge anyway.
  
  From DCC website:
  
  “The call out charge for the first hour or part thereof will be €500 in respect of domestic fires, domestic false alarms and domestic chimney fires and €610 for road traffic accidents.
  Additional hours or part thereof per fire tender will be €450 for domestic call outs and €485 for road traffic accidents.”
  
  It’s all a bit vague at the moment in respect to stolen cars etc but it’s supposed to be the registered owner of a property/car that foots the bill.
  I am a firefighter and I can tell you that we are very much AGAINST these charges

  Thinkin it’s €500 flat for the first hour then u pay by the hour by appliance for domestic. There has been a charge for commercial for some time now!!! If it was a commercial fire there won’t be any difference.
