"His looks burn like fire, his body screams of sex" - it's Greece's rock star finance minister

German comedians have produced a (wonderful) parody music video that depicts Yanis Varoufakis as a terrifying, baby eating “lost son of Zeus”.

HE’S ONLY BEEN in the job a few weeks, but already Greece’s ‘rock star’ finance minister Yanis Varoufakis has built up a global profile.

As the man heading up his country’s debt negotiations, his face has been on the front-page of newspapers-of-record from Bruges to Bratislava pretty much non-stop since he came to office.

They’ve certainly been paying attention to the former professor in Germany.

So much so, that some well-known comedians have produced a (relatively) high-budget, often hilarious parody video, depicting the Syriza politician as a towering, laser-beams-for-eyes, ass-kicking piece of awesome.

Produced by ZDF’s Neo Magazin Royale show and starring comedian Jan Böhmerman, the clip touches on a range of close-to-the bone German issues (like the country’s uncanny ability to start world wars, but never win them) before setting its sights on Varoufakis himself.

Some sample lyrics…

“His looks burn like fire, his body screams of sex. Our Minister of Finance doesn’t even have legs.”
“His leather jacket is made of skin from German Shepherd puppies… He feasts on human babies”

Oh, and he can’t be killed by conventional weapons either apparently…
