Irish Film Institute gets new Director

Ross Keane moves into the hot seat as current IFI head goes to IMMA.

THE IRISH FILM Institute has appointed Ross Keane as its new Director. Keane, who has been Public Affairs and Marketing Director of the IFI in Dublin since 2008, takes over from Sarah Glennie. She is to take up her new post as head of the Irish Museum of Modern Art later this month.

Keane was previously Marketing and Development Director at the Dublin Theatre Festival and curated the St Patrick’s Festival programme in Sydney in 2001.

The IFI’s Chairperson, Eve-Anne Cullinan, said that his appointment comes in the year when the IFI marks 20 years in its current home in Temple Bar. He said that he hopes to make “developing relationships with partners in film culture, education and archive” a priority.
