BMW M Division has developed an exclusive special edition, which is limited to just 200 models worldwide. There are 100 Competition Editions available in Carbon Black metallic and 100 in Mineral White metallic.

They will sit on 20-inch forged and polished double spoke M light alloy wheels finished in Jet Black. The car features M Performance parts in carbon such as the rear diffuser, the gurney on the boot lid and the mirror caps and there are high-gloss black kidney gills and side gills bearing the lettering M5 Competition.

The interior is finished in full leather Merino Black trim with contrasting Opal White stitching. Both driver and front passenger sit in M multifunctional seats with M5 embroidered on the headrests. Carbon interior trim strips bear the logo “M5 Competition 1/200” indicating the fact that the BMW M5 Competition Edition is just one of the 200 that have been built.

At the heart of the Competition Edition is the familiar 4.4-litre, high-revving V8 engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. Modifications to the engine turn the wick up by 40hp over the standard BMW M5, to a whooping 600hp and torque has been increased by 20Nm to 700Nm. The engine is mated to the M dual clutch transmission featuring Drivelogic and sprints from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 250km/h, electronically limited.

The BMW M5 Competition Edition is available from €187,520 OTR.
