Teenager unknowingly tweets unseen photos of first ever Nirvana gig

She found the photos in her Dad’s books about Nirvana.

A TWEET FROM a teenager showing photos of her Dad playing with Nirvana has gone viral, as the photos are from the band’s first ever concert.

Her father, Tony Poukkula, had known Kurt Cobain since childhood and he joined Nirvana for covers of two Led Zeppelin songs.

Maggie Poukkula said she didn’t realise the significance of the photos before she tweeted them.

The show was put on in the basement of her Dad’s house in Raymond, Washington, in 1987.

The 19-year-old found the photo in her Dad’s books about Cobain and Nirvana. She told Rolling Stone,

I thought they were just cool pictures of my dad and Kurt jamming together.

“I had no idea that those were during Nirvana’s first concert.

“My dad showed me them a while back, but he never mentioned that’s what was going on in the photos. I found out because of all the articles. I didn’t realise it was such a historical thing.”
