  • Nothing new here, I was mugged with a syringe about 10 years ago on Abbey St at 8 in the morning. Scared the crap out of me. The Garda caught the guy, he still had my wallet on him. It went to court 6 months later, he was out on the streets all that time. He got a six month stretch was was fine by me but the time he served was concurrent with time he already doing for similar attacks before and after mine.

  • Something has to be done about these animals ,I know he is probably a hopeless addict but a poor guy working probably for minimum wage to be subjected to this savagery is too much any for form of heroin or meth dealers need to get massive sentences or some sort of draconian treatment to make the guys stop ,now I don’t like a lot about Saudi but won’t catch guys dealing smack

    • Bit sensationalist. For a start meth is not much of a problem in Ireland, heroin we all know about. As for Saudi Arabia: they have huge problems with amphetamines. Drug addiction is not confined to this country. In Saudi they behead criminals, should we do that here? Addiction is an illness, whether that be drugs or alcohol, and suitable resources need to be directed at fixing that. But this country is totally inept when it comes to any mental health issues – which addiction is. Not saying that those who commit these types of crime should go unpunished, but the government is doing little to combat our burgeoning drug problem.

  • I hope the leg injury was caused by someone in the shop that kicked the crap out of him, the dirty animal needs to be locked up he’s going to do it again given the chance and I’m sure it’s not his first time either.

These syringe attacks are absolutely filthy, who knows what the syringe is infected with. One stab with the thing can mess up a persons life completely. It’s really really sad that some result to that as a weapon. It’s a bit like a dirty bomb compared to a normal explosive device.
Hope the injured staff member recovers swiftly.
