1.#STATE EXAMS: The Junior and Leaving Cert exams got underway today, with 119,000 students putting pen to paper on their English exams. As well as poets and Shakespeare, a hit detective show made an appearance.

2.#800 BABIES: The Children’s Minister said that the government is ‘actively considering’ the best course of action for dealing with the alleged mass grave found in Tuam. The story has made headlines in the world’s media.

3.#THE FLASH: Gardaí are asking people to report any naked men they see in public. The move comes after a naked man was spotted at the Memorial Gardens in Dublin.

4.#MEDICAL CARDS: In the ongoing row over medical cards, the Finance Minister said today that some of those who had discretionary medical cards removed will have them restored.

5.#UP IN SMOKE: The HSE has revealed that eight businesses were convicted and fined after employees were found to be smoking illegally on their premises in the first three months of the year. More than half of all prosecutions related to smoking areas in licensed premises such as pubs, night clubs and hotels.
