- Tarubi Wahid Mosta, a witness to the aftermath to the Nice attack on Thursday night which left 84 people dead and more than 200 injured.

I’d probably blame his PR team for talking shite every few weeks. He’s had three different excuses already. It has to be his PR team making this up. It couldn’t be him. He couldn’t be that stupid to have three different excuses.
- Olympic contender Paddy Barnes on Rory McIlroy’s reasons for not going to the Olympic Games in Rio.
For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up.
- Actress Jennifer Aniston published a strongly-worded opinion piece on Tuesday criticising the celebrity culture which focuses on women’s bodies and fertility.
Not everybody knows this, but the full title of my party is the Conservative and Unionist party. And that word ‘unionist’ is very important to me.
- Theresa May speaking after being formally appointed as UK prime minister on Wednesday about the union of the nations of the United Kingdom.

- HSE director-general Tony O’Brien on the HSE’s record in dealing with suicide charity Console, which was placed in liquidation earlier this week.

- Nobel prize winner Paul Krugman was unimpressed with Ireland’s announcement of 26% (!) growth this week, saying it “doesn’t make sense”.

- Taoiseach Enda Kenny insisting this week that he has no intention of stepping down – despite some calls from Fine Gael backbenchers – because he has a mandate from the electorate.

- US president Barack Obama calling on Americans to show more unity and understanding as he addressed a memorial for the five policemen shot dead in Dallas, Texas.
I can understand the fear. I cannot get my head around the stigma part. Twenty years ago I could understand it, but now?
- Prince Harry, who took a HIV test publically on Thursday to raise awareness about combating the virus.
