Young man dies after stabbing incident in Blanchardstown

A second man has been arrested following the death of a man in his 20s in the early hours of this morning.

A MAN HAS died following a stabbing incident in Blanchardstown, Dublin, in the early hours of this morning.

The victim, aged in his early 20s, was injured shortly after 1.30am on Tuesday morning in the Fortlawn Avenue area and was taken to Connolly Hospital by ambulance. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The scene is preserved pending forensic examination by Garda Crime Scene Investigators.

One male, also aged in his early 20s, was arrested close to the scene and taken to the Blanchardstown Garda Station, where he is being detained under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have information to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 – 6667000, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
