OVER HERE AT TheJournal.ie headquarters we sometimes get sent in really, REALLY random stuff.
While for the most part our readers send us news tips and pictures that are perfectly relevant and useful, sometimes they’re really not.
We used to post some of the weird sh*te that got sent our way, and we now think it’s time to bring back the randomness.
So here’s a look at some of the surprises we got when we opened our inboxes recently:
Know something we don’t?
This charming mail came in to us stating:
“Here are some headstones. Let me know if you are interested.”
In wonder
One reader sent us in this drawing with the proud caption, “My 11 year old drew this, I think it’s deadly, just saying.”
Cha Ching
Another reader decided to express their shock about a scratch card:
“Matthews of Clones Newsagents has had some large wins over the years but never this amount on a scratch card.”
Fishy business
We also got sent in this photo of a bluefin tuna displayed in a fish merchants in Cork but not only did we get a photo – we also received instructions on how best to cook it. Yes, really.
Note: the best way to cook it is to rub it in salt and pepper, wrap it in Turkey foil and lob it on a bonfire with pallets and tyres!
Revolutionary reg
Another reader sent us in this photo of a car registration spotted in Orlando, Florida.
Aw lads
This photo of a bicycle very BADLY parked certainly got a reaction from the cyclists in the office.
It was sent in with the caption, “And in a busy spot too! … Have they no shame?”
Ridiculous carry on.
Your contributions will help us continue
to deliver the stories that are important to you
Really?
This still from a Sky News report was sent in with the caption, “Sky news camera a bit too close!”
Three, Two, One
Oliver Gargan from Cavan sent in this photo of himself, explaining:
“I had my camera set up on a Tripod and set it to a self timer and quickly raced to position myself.”
Feeling the love
So this may not technically – or in anyway – be a photo BUT someone got in touch with this very heartfelt message and we really wanted to show you how much we’re loved.
If you’d like to send us some news tips or pictures email us at tips@thejournal.ie or pictures@thejournal.ie.
