SOME 265 JOBS are being created in Westmeath and Galway.
Courier company DPD is set to create 200 jobs in Athlone, 70 of which are expected to be filled before Christmas.
The company is investing €13 million expanding its headquarters in Athlone, with new roles for drivers, IT and administrative staff.
Meanwhile, a German medical devices company Phenox GmbH is to open a manufacturing facility in Galway next year with the creation of 65 jobs.
The company makes vascular devices which are used in the treatment of aneurysms and strokes.
The jobs will be in manufacturing, research, sales and support, and will be rolled out over the next five years.
It will set up the facility at Ballybrit Business Park and hopes to be running by early 2016.
