1. #BUDGET 2014: The government today announced the Budget for 2014. The opposition parties are still debating the merits of the Budget, but if you missed it earlier, here are all of the key things to know.

2. #JOHN GILLIGAN: Notorious drug dealer John Gilligan was released from Portlaoise Prison today. He told reporters at a house in Dublin earlier that he had nothing to do with Veronica Guerin’s murder and that his immediate plans were “to have another beer”.

3. #BURGLARY: Three men have been arrested in Dublin in connection with an aggravated burglary after which a man in his 60s had to be hospitalised.

4. #REPOSSESSION: A group gathered today at the Allsop auction in Dublin to protest against the sale of distressed homes, though the auctioneer claims that no repossessed homes were sold today.

5. #LOVE/HATE: Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan has said there are “issues that to be addressed” regarding the appearance of a serving garda in last Sunday’s episode of crime drama Love/Hate… as an undercover garda.
