AMERICAN CLOTHES BRAND Aéropostale will open its first store in western Europe in Dublin’s Liffey Valley Shopping Centre today.
The New York brand is creating 30 jobs as part of its expansion, saying it will add a total of 300 jobs in the next five years in Ireland.
The 4,000 square foot flagship store will be the first of up to ten stores planned for Ireland over the next five years.
The company behind Aéropostale in Ireland is Shuz 4 U International Ltd, which is part of the Shuz Group, the company behind Skechers Retail Stores Ireland.
There are 758 Aeropostale stores in the US and 51 in Canada, as well as 290 across the Middle East, Asia and Europe.
The company had revenues of $1.8 billion last year, with profits of around $200 million.
